What happens during office hours?
Join a small-group Zoom office hour during any scheduled block during the week. Bring homework, lecture questions, or exam material. Work through problems while an instructor rotates between a small group of students—just like university office hours, but with far more availability and specially-selected instructors. Tackle focused exam prep during the included monthly 1-on-1 tutoring session for a system that prepares you for all time scales.

- What subjects do you cover?
- We cover effectively any level of high school or college math and physics, plus the first year or two of college math and physics:
- High school & college math: algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, multivariable calculus, differential equations (higher math available)
- High school & college physics: mechanics, electricity, magnetism, thermodynamics (higher physics available)
- We cover effectively any level of high school or college math and physics, plus the first year or two of college math and physics:
- Why do you include one monthly 1-on-1?
- Although many misunderstandings can be efficiently resolved during office hours, some extended 1-on-1 time is important! This is especially true for untangling deep misunderstandings, approaching especially difficult concepts, and preparing for big exams. We feel that approximately one hour of this sort of meeting per month will serve most students’ purposes well, but we also opted to have discounted individual sessions available if students feel they would benefit from spending some more 1-on-1 time.
- Do you cap the number of people in one office hour?
- Yes. I will make sure no single office hour has more than ~3-4 students (per instructor). This is based off of my own experiences of how much active guidance vs. practice time is typically needed, and will prevent instructor attention from being stretched too thin. There will also be systems in place to distribute people who anticipate needing more help on a given day, and we will continually monitor student feedback.
- Who will the tutors be?
- I will be heavily involved myself. I love working with people individually.
- Additional tutors are hand-selected by me. They are graduates of US universities who majored in physics or a related discipline such as mechanical engineering or math, who have explicit experience and proven abilities in clear and effective teaching.
- Is this well-suited for high-school students?
- Yes! There is a lot of college wording on here, but this is completely appropriate for high school math and physics. There is a ton of overlap in curriculum, and our tutors will be experienced at clarifying, easy-to-understand explanation styles that should be suitable for anyone of any age.
- What can I expect schedule-wise? How many office hours are there per week?
- I’m still developing exact numbers, but my goal is to have at least 4-5 office hours per week per tutor, spread over days of the week and time ranges.
- Individual tutoring will be scheduled per-person around your schedule.
- Can I use you for multiple subjects?
- Absolutely! No need to purchase a separate membership. Physics and math go hand-in-hand and having consistent tutoring for both will benefit you.
- Can I join from anywhere in the world?
- Yes! There is no location restriction (as long as you can access Zoom). Keep in mind that we are based in the US, though—until we have tutors living in other time zones, you can expect times to be clustered to align with US time zones.
- Are payments secure?
- Yes! We use the payment processing company Stripe, which handles secure online payments.
