Join a small-group Zoom office hour during any scheduled block during the week. Bring homework, lecture questions, or exam material. Work through problems while an instructor rotates between a small group of students—just like university office hours, but with far more availability and specially-selected instructors. Tackle focused exam prep during the included monthly 1-on-1 tutoring session for a system that prepares you for all time scales.
Seeing people have breakthrough moments during office hours was one of my favorite parts of teaching at UMass. The ability to work and practice while receiving personalized guidance is an opportunity I wanted to bring to everyone, which is why I created officehours+. I’m excited to see you there! -Nick Pittman, Founder

Traditional tutoring usually happens once a week. Questions don’t. We designed our program around this from the start: we pair 1-on-1 tutoring with consistent and flexible access to help throughout the week, instead of having to save everything for one appointment.
| Traditional Tutoring | officehours+ |
| One fixed time slot | Flexible help any day of the week |
| Crams material, homework, & exam prep into one hour | Time for interactive work and practice problems in addition to review |
| Expensive sessions discourage getting help on quick questions, or force you to save for next week | Short questions and drop-ins encouraged; come back throughout the week any time you’re stuck |
| Weekly contract, even if you don’t have questions that week | Show up as much or as little as you need that week; book additional individual tutoring sessions if focused help needed, with no week-to-week commitments |
Hi! I’m Nick, the creator of officehours+. I have always believed that the best way to learn physics and math is through easily-accessible, clearly-explained, human interaction.
It’s important to for any instructor to have extensive experience working in science and math education, and to be dedicated to teaching. Here’s my track record:
“Nick is a great professor and all around guy. He is also really good at explaining the material and understanding how the students think…” “[he] cares deeply about student success and if you put the effort in, he will as well.”
“Physics 2 is known for being a rather hard course, but he did an amazing job going out of his way to explain any confusing concepts. He is well-prepared when it comes to his lectures and always answers any questions students may have. He is also easily accessible. If you get the chance, take one of his courses.”
“Despite having a class size of 300 students, he tried to personally get to know as many as possible. He wants everyone in his class to succeed and he makes that very clear in the way he teaches the class. His lectures are clear and full of examples.”
“This was one of the best courses I have ever taken. I’m a chemistry major but I have never loved physics until this class. Nick is so kind and he teaches so well it changed my viewpoint on the subject.”
